Jukka-Pekka Kärkkäinen is the CEO of FCA Investments Ltd (FCAI), a subsidiary of Finn Church Aid (FCA). He joined FCA in 2017 and based on the shared vision, he developed the strategy and facilitated the initial Finnish Government funding of 16 million euros for FCAI. FCAI’s primary objective is to make funding and skills available for economically, socially and environmentally sustainable SME’s that work to improve livelihoods in developing countries and fragile states for more resilient and productive communities. Mr. Kärkkäinen has a unique combination of experience in the field of finance, which helps him to see opportunities and potential systematic problems when it comes to long-term sustainability. He started 1997 as equity derivatives advisor at Finnish derivatives exchange and later at Helsinki Stock Exchange. Thereafter he served seven years’ as a portfolio manager in the largest pension fund in Finland. From 2005 until 2017, he worked as a partner and CFO for a logistic service company operating in Tanzania. The company grew in sustainable way from USD100k turnover to USD24million in 10 years, created 200 sustainable jobs and became part of a logistics platform intended to cover Sub Saharan Africa
