Teemu Seppälä has long investment manager experience by running various investment schemes investing in 1000+ start-up business ideas as a fund manager of several public funds. Experience on running own company as well as several board memberships. Programme leadership, change management, planning, foresight, monitoring and risk management experience gained in Chief Technical Advisor, Head of Sales and other international executive positions. In charge of fundraising and marketing for different industrial sectors and serving wide range of companies including technology transfer. Teemu has established and managed partnerships with educational institutions, governments and private sector. Solid background with multi-partner and funder projects with EU, IFIs (like World Bank, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank and IDB), Regional Funds, Business Finland and FinnFund. Extensive knowledge on innovation ecosystems and fund management; both public and private sector. E.g. years 2008-2012: Supporting establishment of Aalto Entrepreneurship Society (AES) and the ecosystem incl. funding, coaching and building the Aalto Venture Garage / Start-Up Sauna accelerator space and running several incubation training programmes. AppCampus (21M€): First in the world mobile application accelerator funded by Nokia and Microsoft, hosted by Aalto University. STIFIMO programme (22M€) in Mozambique; setting up funding schemes and capacity building programmes (in Maputo Capital Region, Nampula, Beira and Tete) as well as public incubators and supporting private accelerators. TANZICT programme (6M€) in Tanzania: Innovation initiatives at all levels of the society from grassroots to the state policy level in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Iringa, Zanzibar and Mbeya. Various programme preparations, implementations and evaluations in Uruguay, Vietnam, Mongolia, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Philippines, Turkey, Bangladesh and Ukraine; and 20+ Global North countries. Currently, Teemu works in Helsinki Business Hub leading fintech ecosystem development in Finland.
