Vítor Pereira doesn’t have the typical background of an IT Professional. About to enter his last year in Law school, the passion for Web Design took him from analyzing the Constitution to be the Tech Leader in the Digital Media Bureau at Universidade Lusíada. Soon he realized of the need to upgrade his programming skills having graduated in Multimedia Engineering by ISTEC, followed by a new position as Programmer Analyst for Gfi Portugal where he would come to perform multiple roles in the following 10 years: from Project Management, Pre-Sales Coordination, Microsoft Partnership Management and, later Account Management. In the last year he accepted a new challenge as the Director for the company’s FabLab in Lisbon. Given his passion for interface design and Human-Machine interaction he still considers a privilege to work in the space where design and technology meet.

His most recent projects have focused on combining emerging technologies with unique consumer experiences. This has included medical device companies, enterprise software providers, cryptocurrencies, bots, smart city initiatives and Islamic finance. He is also travels to GCC (including KSA) and other countries regularly to give keynotes and run workshops on innovation.

Recently, he was Chief Communications Officer at INSEAD Business School, at which he conceived and led the team to refresh the global brand identity. This included using design thinking on critical elements of the consumer journey leading to a boost on social media recognition from 15k to over 1M.

She’s 46 and she has been a journalist all her professional life. She has had leadership roles at Sábado, Diário Económico, and the magazine department at Global Media, with Notícias Magazine, Evasões, Volta ao Mundo, Delas, Men’s Health and Women’s Health. She was also a a staff reporter at Expresso and Visão. Diário de Notícias has been one of the most involved media in denouncing fake news and media and tackling the desinformation problem and is now working on a project with Inesc to deal with them.

Federico Guerrini is the EMEA Technical Lead for Microsoft Azure Networking and Security at Microsoft. He joined Microsoft in 2008 as a Technical Specialist for Identity & Access management. Prior to joining Microsoft, Federico worked as a security engineer, focusing on the emerging field of offensive security. Federico graduated cum laude in Computer Engineering from the University of Pavia (Italy) in 1999. In 2003 he received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same university. While he was pursuing his Ph.D., he was invited as a visiting researcher at the University of Toronto, where he developed compression-resistant digital watermarking algorithms for image authentication.

Paula Panarra has a degree in Chemistry Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico and has more than 20 years of experience as a business leader. Before joining Microsoft, Paula Panarra worked for more than 15 years for multinational Procter & Gamble. She was responsible – first – for financial management, then she was Head of Operational Communication and Marketing. She is, since December 2016, the General Manager for Microsoft Portugal supporting customers with Microsoft mission to “empower every person and organization in the world to achieve more”.
